Lets be honest, it was crappy to be shutout by the habs.

Could be worse, like losing to a zamboni driver worse.

I switched for 3rd in Toronto, well worth it

I stuck with Sens game but followed the fan commentary on the Leaf thread. Oh boy! The ultimate fecal show in T.O.

If nothing else Sens fans are able to witness the virtue of patience. Time is an essential ingredient in every rebuild. Leafs are paying the price for failing to wait on the natural evolution of their talent. They pushed the envelope and their competitive window has already begun to narrow.

This is a team that cannot play defense. If you cannot play defense, you cannot be a serious contender in this NHL.

Sens fans need to watch and learn.

Will be great if we can upgrade picks with Ennis and Namestnikov. If Mrazek is also out long term I can see CAR going for Lehner or if they dont want to spend too much Anderson might be an option.

Duclair, Brown, Pageau and Tierney should only stay if they are not being resigned.

I can imagine we don't trade Hainsey now that we dont have a lot of depth anymore.

Other than that, great that the Devils are winning some games. LA is also closing in on us again. If the season would end today we would have 20% on pick nr 1 and 60% on a top 3 pick.

How can D be respectable when 3 vets are #6 or #7 on most team's depth chart & 2 prospects & no structure.

Is Norris being showcased before deadline. I find timing rather odd. Belleville are into a tough week, Brown & Beaudin are out & Ottawa didn't need a center. Smith gave him a lot of ice in different situation & even put him out at end of game.

Didn’t bother with the sens game.

I watched the whole leafs game and what stood out was how dominant the canes were once Ayres came in.

Leafs score those two quick goals on him and I’m thinking, wow, this is unfair. From there the Canes played what you call beat down hockey and just crushed the leafs in every way possible.

How do you not got on a crazy run if you’re the Canes now?

Maybe Dubas should make a call for Hainsey even more? The fragile squad could use an awful defender..with locker room tangibles

Same here, the Habs/Sens game was meaningless anyway ... we're 2 rebuilding teams. Watching Toronto get beat by their own Zamboni driver was priceless and one for the Ages.

Less than 24 hours remaining... Dorion has lots of work to do.

If we expect Dorion to 'do a lot of work' we're setting ourselves up to be disappointed. Watch him resign Pageau for 6*6 and cue womp womp musical cues. If he thinks he can sign and trade a popular local player, that's an even dumber move. Pags is worth no more than 4 per, and even that's rich. As per Brown, Tierney, Duke - wish they'd move too but at least they are RFAs and can be shipped in the summer, likely for stronger returns.

The pattern for the last few years is for Dorion to talk for months about how he wants to re-sign players, only to trade them away for draft picks and prospects. The fact that no deal has been announced with 24 hours remaining is a strong indication that no deal is coming. My money is on Pageau being traded.

Good , cheering for SJ losses and FLR wins. ... and half keeping an eye on the snoreators. .. i really cant see at this point how next year will be any better, perhaps just in bottom 10 instead of bottom 5. The 20/21...bottom 10.The 21/22 season might fight for a playoff spot.22/23.. should make the playoffs. 23/24 ,24/25 could be a threat....alot would have to go right for this to happen, given the current algorithm of gm/owners decisions.and plans...unless they switch gears of their plan. Wich if they are serious should happen in the summer of 2021.... wich leads me to seriously ask can the dwindling attendance and fan base absorb this lengthy procedure, before whispers and innuendo of relocation become a serious topic.

Fans will respond strongly to a young team that flashes signs of a strong future. It is easy to identify with a team that is improving. Three years ago the fans in Toronto loved the Leafs. This morning many of those same fans hate them. The difference is the shift in expectations. It is always a mistake to push the development process faster than your young players are able to deliver.

The attendance issue is even more complex. The root of Melnyk's problem is his fractured relationship with almost the entire Ottawa business community. They will not come back until Melnyk is gone. I believe the rebuilding of the team and the sale of the team are mutually supportive concepts. The growth in the value of team assets (talent pool) while lowering actual operating costs is a classic maneuver for any enterprise being prepared for sale.

I remain entirely confident that as long as things remain quiet, there is progress being made on a final resolution of team ownership and investment.

Interesting talk on the TEAM 1200 today about the number of roster players they have right now, with Bath and Norris sent down, which could impact the game tonight depending on who they trade

They have 21 players on active roster and 48 contracts signed.

They have lots of flexibility. Is the concern (on TEAM 1200) is that they may be short players for tonight?

Dorion traded namestikov for a worse pick than he gave up for him..........(frank) this man is incompetent when making NHL level deals.

gives up Ott 2021 4th to get him

gets Col 2021 4th when moving him
